This is an exceptional art deco shawl made of gold lamé - gold metallic thread woven in a floral and foliate pattern against a black silk background that is also printed with a floral pattern in colours of yellow, brown, white, pink and blue. I’ve shown the opposite side, which is covered in metallic gold thread. The edge has an attached 18” hand knotted black silk fringe along all four sides. The piece measures 49” by 48”, exclusive of the fringe. This art deco shawl is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains, holes or odours - this has been very well stored and cared for over the last 90 to 100 years.
