The US Army 10th Mountain Division, also known as the "Mountaineers," has a long and proud history of serving the nation. The division was first formed during World War II as an elite unit specializing in mountain warfare. They were deployed to Italy, where they fought in some of the most rugged and challenging terrain of the war.

After World War II, the 10th Mountain Division was disbanded, but it was reactivated in 1985 as a light infantry division. They were involved in numerous military operations throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including the Gulf War and peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Kosovo.

The 10th Mountain Division also played a significant role in the War on Terror. They were deployed to Afghanistan in 2001 and played a critical role in the initial invasion. They were responsible for securing the Bagram airfield and played a key role in routing the Taliban from the region. They were also heavily involved in Operation Anaconda, a large-scale military operation designed to root out Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters in the Shah-i-Kot Valley.

In Iraq, the 10th Mountain Division was responsible for securing the Baghdad airport and played a key role in the Battle of Fallujah, one of the most intense urban battles of the war. They were also involved in numerous other operations throughout the country, including the hunt for high-value targets.

Today, the 10th Mountain Division remains a key component of the US Army. They have proven themselves to be an elite and highly effective fighting force, with a long and proud history of service to the nation. From the rugged mountains of Italy to the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan, the Mountaineers have shown themselves to be capable of meeting any challenge.
