This is a vintage suede shearling coat that was sold at Birger Christensen, a high end department store located in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Birger Christensen was established in 1869 and is known for its furs - this suede shearling coat would have been quite expensive.  The coat has a suede exterior with decorative stitching, a shearling interior and a wide collar that can be worn up to shield the head.  The coat flares out to the bottom, like an A line, and closes with two buttons and loops positioned at the upper front.  The sleeves have dropped shoulders.  This suede shearling coat has a pocket built into either side of the coat. 

Age: difficult to know for sure, but I would think 1980s

Sizing: No size is indicated on this suede shearling coat, and although this shearling coat should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the suede and fur into account:

Shoulders:  29” across dropped shoulder seam-to-seam following the contour of the shoulder / 24” across the chest seam-to-seam

Sleeves:  24 1/2” long from the dropped shoulder seam with the cuff unturned.  35” from the mid-neck seam to the cuff edge with the cuff unturned.  Turning the cuff will shorten the sleeve length

Sleeve Inseam:  16 1/2” long, including the fur cuff

Bust: 50” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 33” around

Hips:  54” around

Bottom:  78” around

Overall length: 42” long, taken at the back from the neck seam to the hemline

Condition: This suede shearling coat is in very good condition with no pronounced marking, wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour.   

This suede shearling coat is of obvious superior quality - the suede has a beautiful nappe (finish).  Very nice suede shearling coat from a well regarded Danish retailer!
