Invest in a true CIVVIESUPPLY original with our classic Medical Dept. Branch T-Shirt, featuring a design inspired by a 1940's Army PT shirt from the military's archives.
The Army Medical Department (AMEDD) — formerly known as the Army Medical Service (AMS) — houses all six of the Army's separate medical branches: Medical Corps, Nurse Corps, Dental Corps, Veterinary Corps, Medical Service Corps, and Medical Specialist Corps. The design features the Medical Dept. branch insignia — a Caduceus, the traditional symbol of Hermes, which features two snakes winding around a winged staff. First adopted in 1851, the insignia underwent slight variations in design until 1902, when the Army codified the version still in use today.
The Medical Dept. traces its lineage back to 27 July 1775, when the Continental Congress established the first Army Hospital, but it did not formerly become an Army branch until 1818. The branch's motto is "Experientia et Progressus" ("Experience and Progress"), and its home station is Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Whether you've served in the Medical Dept. for years or you just branched, this is the shirt you'll grab every time you open your shirt drawer.
