This is a wonderful vintage men’s dressing gown/lounging robe made in a red acetate with plaid trim in tones of green, black and red. The robe has a shawl collar, turned cuffs, side pockets and chest pocket, all trimmed in plaid as well as a matching sash belt.
Age: Early 1950s, possibly late 40s
Label: Robe de Chambre Tulipe Dressing Gowns
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although it should fit a man who wears a large tall or extra large (US size 44 - 46), please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 19” across seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 26” long
Sleeve Inseam: 19” long
Chest: 48” around, approximate, depending on overlap
Waist: 48”, meant to be cinched with the sash belt
Overall length: 58”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours - a couple of pinprick holes, not at all visible under normal view, but found by inspecting the fabric with a bright light behind it. In addition, there may be a bit of pink dye cast to the trim close to the red, but really this is negligible. Really, this is a wonderful dressing gown that was well kept over the last 70 or so years.
This is a great looking dressing gown – attractive red colour and plaid pattern trim!
