This is a pair of vintage tails / mens tuxedo tailcoat dating to the  1940s.  The label reads “Henry Morgan & Co Limited Montreal”.  Henry Morgan was a high-end department store located in Montreal, Canada. Everything that I’ve had that was purchased there has been a cut above in quality. 

These vintage tails are made in a classic form with padded shoulders, wide peaked lapels, no closure, cut away front with six buttons, two buttons at the back and four buttons at either cuff.  The lapels are finished in black grosgrain.  It is fully lined in black twill fabric.  Note that there are no pants or accessories included, only the vintage tails.

Sizing: There is no size label, and although these vintage tails should fit a medium size (US size 40 tall), please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric into consideration):

Shoulders: 19” across shoulder seam-to-seam 

Sleeves: 27” from shoulder seam 

Sleeve Inseam: 20” long

Chest: 44” around, taken under the arms with a normal gap, 22” across pit-to-pit

Waist: 40” around

Overall length: 46“ at the back, measured flat from the neck seam

Condition: These vintage tails is in very good condition with no noted wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour - it looks like it saw little use, and was well kept over the years.  

This is a nice tailcoat with long tails - well tailored, classy 40s style!
