This is the cutest vintage 1960s swing coat made in Canada by William Frohman under “The Young Scene” label.  This 1960s swing coat is made in a “dolly” style and has a collar that can be worn up or down, a puff at the top of the sleeve that is gathered at the shoulder seam and a distinctive twelve plastic button closure consisting of buttons in colours of red, yellow, blue and green.  There is a pocket built into either side of this 1960s swing coat and the sleeves are made in an above the wrist length so that you can show off your gloves. The coat would provide warmth in a colder climate although it isn’t meant for harsh winter use.   This 1960s swing coat flares out to the hemline.

Union label:  ILGWU Canadian label used between 1956 and 1968 - there is a CA textile identification number on the back of the union label, which is a little confusing as I alway thought that those IDs were assigned during the early 70s.

Material:  This 1960s swing coat is made of 80% wool / 15% viscose and 5% other fibres, has an acetate lining and a cotton interlining

Sizing: There is no size label on this 1960s swing coat, and although this should fit a small size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (please note the it is very narrow through the upper area, so take the style of the coat and thickness of the wool into consideration):

Shoulders:  14 1/2” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves:  21” long

Sleeve inseam: 14 1/2”

Upper arm:  13” around - you need to have a slender upper arm

Bust: 40” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  46”

Hips:  58”

Overall length: 29", measured flat

Condition: This 1960s swing coat is in very good condition with the exception of a bit of wear to the lining at the left armpit.  Otherwise, the coat has no other pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.
