This is a pre-owned 100% wool vintage mens overcoat made in a very attractive drab olive green colour.  The fabric is in a medium thickness and of very nice quality.  This vintage mens overcoat has a Montreal retailer label on the interior lining, Harry Rosen, and was made in Montreal, Canada by Cardinal, a manufacturer with a history dating to 1938 that from the beginning focused on manufacturing coats using only quality fabrics.  The Tyvek label has the CA number of 00292, which is the number assigned to Cardinal.  This vintage mens overcoat is made in a classic style with fairly high set medium wide notched lapels, a four button closure, padded shoulders, diagonal side pockets and a 22” kick vent.  The coat is fully lined in green satin acetate. It was made by ACTWU (Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union) formed in 1976 and which changed its name to UNITE in 1995, so the coat definitely dates to that time range, most likely to the 1980s.

Sizing: The size label on this vintage mens overcoat states size 42 long, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please note that during the 80s coat were cut to be roomy):

Shoulders: 20 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 26” from shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2” long

Chest: 50” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 45”

Hips:  48”

Overall length: 51“, measured flat from the neck seam to the hemline

Condition:  Although pre-owned, this vintage mens overcoat is in great condition - it’s obvious that it saw very little use.  It is very clean and has been well stored. 

This is a very nice vintage mens overcoat - attractive colour, very good quality!
